I Want You to Live: A Poem About the Miracle of Your Existence
I wanted to share this short poem about you being here, and what a miracle that is, in case it's something you need to hear today.
If you like this, please let me know! Maybe I'll turn it into a poetry print.
Trust me: your being here is a miracle.
But... if you feel like your life is missing something, definitely get my Belonging guided meditation. It'll fill you up with purpose, with peace, when you forget how incredible it is that you're alive.
I Want You to Live: A Poem About the Miracle of Your Existence
I want you to close your eyes and imagine the stardust that makes up your very soul. I want you to wonder at all the light and color and time it took to bring you here.
I want you to take a minute away from your everyday reality to feel the beating of your own heart. To sense just how remarkable it is that you're here at all.
And then I want you to open your eyes and see all the beauty still left around you, and sense the beauty that's still just budding within you.
I want you to sharpen your senses, and put all of yourself into each moment, wherever you go. And wherever you find yourself, I want you to also find your reason for being here, for being you.
You only need to open your heart and feel this simple truth coursing through you: you are here to live. For to live is to give the universe the gift of knowing itself.

What here did you most need to read today?
Tell me in the comments. I'd love to know!
Remember: when the sun's out but you don't feel it in your heart, maybe you're more like the moon, and it's the darkness that makes you shine. (yes, this one's a print, too!)

Michelle, what a gift that you could experience this disease in such a way that you feel even more connected to your friend. I believe we’re all connected, on either side of death, it’s just not always easy to feel that way, to know it. This comment inspired me. Thank you <3

“To live is to give the universe the gift of knowing itself.” My friend, Keith, and I used to talk about this all the time – the fact that our lives are an opportunity for God to know himself, or the universe to know itself. He passed away years ago, after a long battle with Lyme disease. I am now recovering from the same disease and have come to understand him more fully through my experience. I love him and I miss him, but because of all of the awesome conversations we had over the years, I feel connected to him every time I feel connected to life.
