Without Your Love, a Poem to Help You Say "Thank You"
"Without your love... I would miss so much life." If there's someone you want to thank for what they've given you, read this short love poem. It's for them and all the life they bring into your life. All the pain they've helped you through, the hope they've helped you find again.
“If not for you, the winter would hold no spring.” – Bob Dylan
Without Your Love
You’ve painted a pattern
That rearranged it all.
With you,
I am in a valley underneath heaven;
There is nowhere I would fall.
You soften the edges,
Help me untie the knots,
Make it safe for me
To bear my losses.
With you,
I surrender my shadows;
At once they’ve lost their grip,
And they fall away.
Whatever I do
Is your doing, too,
For in my heart you stay.
Each step I take
Has in it your name,
And I’d walk no other way.
In this way,
I would be with you without end.
With you,
Life opens up its doors;
Forgiveness comes easier
And I can do more.
You’ve laid a carpet
Underneath my feet,
For you are my friend
And I tread now softly.
With you,
It’s safe to hear the robin sing;
I am not paralyzed by the sting
That comes with each spring.
Since you,
Beauty has made itself known,
And there is nowhere I would roam
Without your love.
For nothing you’ve said or done
Will ever matter as much
As the way you’d have me feel
When I’m with you.
