Thoughts on the Power of Words to Shape Reality

The words we choose and the *way* we use them together can hurt or heal, destroy or build, isolate or unite. If you want to be more mindful about what you say and how you say it, read this. It'll remind you how powerful YOU are. To live and love, the way YOU want to.

“Words. So powerful. They can crush a heart, or heal it. They can shame a soul, or liberate it. They can shatter dreams, or energize them. They can obstruct connection, or invite it. They can create defenses, or melt them. We have to use words wisely.” — Jeff Brown

The Power of Words Rests in Your Heart & Make Your Reality

Think of the words and phrases you use on a daily basis. Consider every word material for the home you’re building: your reality, your life.

Here are a few phrases that might come up, which you might want to consider:

  • Do you “not have enough time” for something, or is it “not a priority”?
  • What if you replaced the word “time” with “space” or "bandwidth"? See how that feels.
  • Try trading the word “hustle” with “heart,” the word “grind” with “flow,” and the word “hack” with “harmony.” I bet your work would feel different.

How do your words make you feel? How does it impact your experiences and relationships? What could you swap it out for, if it doesn’t resonate with the reality you want to contribute to?

“Remember your words can plant gardens or burn whole forests down.” — Gemma Troy

Deciding to bring more intention to what you’re thinking, speaking, and empowering through word choice isn’t an event. It doesn’t happen overnight or in a week. It’s something you’d need to pay attention to on a daily basis, in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

That's why I wrote two books, one for the morning, one for the nighttime, to help you tell yourself the things you need to hear: Morning Affirmations and Sleep Affirmations.

How you experience your experiences is your masterpiece alone. Take responsibility for your reality. Let your words and feelings guide you. You have that power. You can have that freedom.

“Intentions compressed into words enfold magical power.” - Deepak Chopra

Tell me:

Which words would you like to get rid of, and which would serve you better in their place?

Tell me in the comments. I read every single one, and I’d love to know!

With love,

Jen

P.S. Tell yourself the things you need to hear. Get my book Morning Affirmations for hope and possibility first thing in the morning. Get my book Sleep Affirmations to fall asleep knowing you're exactly who you need to be, here and now, flaws and all.
