Feed Your Positive Possibilities (a Poem)
When you think about what you really want, you feed your dreams — you water the roots of the flower that has yet to bloom. Read this poem to inspire you to give your positive possibilities a bigger place in your heart, so you can enjoy each step in the journey... without anxiety.
“Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.” – Richard Wilkins
Professional athletes and successful entrepreneurs use visualization as a self-fulfilling tool all the time—they visualize what they’re doing before they’ve done it, and that happens to make them more likely to achieve what they first saw in their mind.
We can harness the power of visualization and apply it to any area of life. Instead of saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it,” try saying, “I’ll see it when I believe it.”
“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.” – Jonathan Swift
What if you didn’t need to hunt your dreams down
Whatever your dreams are—however lofty or humble, whatever form they'd take—consider what it'd be like to be at peace with where you are right now.
Being in this trusting state in the present moment feeds your dreams, and draws them near. That’s not to say you won’t have to work hard to manifest positive possibilities, but that you’ll do so from a place of enthusiasm instead of distress.
Maybe good things are always trying to come in to our lives, and we must merely open ourselves in the present so their energy can come through us first, and then into the world we see.
"Believe in what you want so much that it has no chance but to materialize. – Karen Salmansohn
When you believe it, you can see it. When you genuinely feel it and embody it, you invite it to come forth.
I wrote this poem in reverence to the dreams that I’ve listened to, those visions that I watched grow, and those that I continue to believe in before anyone else can see them.
Enjoy the journey.
I Water the Seeds of My Positive Possibilities
When I close my eyes
And see my dreams
As clear as a calm sea,
They impress upon me
The vision of who I am meant to be.
They reveal to me
A new reality,
A life bigger and unbound
By the forces that now
Keep me from being free.
I won’t be too tired to love,
Nor too tired to dream.
I will sleep no more.
I won’t leave without reaching above
For what could be.
I must unlock the door.
This path I must go alone,
But hand in hand I’ll stroll
With the ones who believe
In where I long to go.
My capabilities
Far outweigh the toll.
With heart,
I will get there.
No wear and tear
Will tire my soul.
What I see first
In my mind
Is a signal to the train
Before it ever leaves the station,
And before it arrives at the destination.
I envision positive possibilities
Instead of negative ones,
Because they’re both
Self-fulfilling prophecies—
Fuel for that particular outcome.
I can get where I want to be
Because I strengthen my belief
In my ability to see
What has yet to come.
The splendor of the universe,
The entirety of the force that brought me here,
Cannot be sabotaged with thoughts–
Yet it may seem forever away
If my mind cannot find,
And if my visions cannot align,
With the splendor
That’s but a blink away.
The fact that my dreams
Can come true
Is nothing new,
Perhaps only a long-forgotten
Staple of my youth.
I am the one
Who must recall the truth,
That my dreams came to me
Wanting to come true.
I heal this syndrome;
They call it:
“Waiting to start living.”
I won’t wait until it’s done
Before I start giving.
There’s a spark inside
That brings my vision to life,
A power that allows me
To see what has yet to be,
And gives me faith
That I don’t have to wait
To enjoy my life someday.
With love,
My destination arises
In each step.
I won’t wait for joy
To come at the end.
I make this journey
More than a means to an end:
I put joy in each step,
And the means becomes the end
Of suffering and fighting
To get my needs met.
I blow not to and fro
Every time the wind shifts—
Temporary setbacks
Do not blow my visions away.
For the GPS of my soul
Leads the way,
And it never turns off;
It never fails.
But it cannot point the way
If I do not adjust the sails.
I keep feeding my beliefs
So that I might see the fruit
Nestled inside a seed.
I am part of a new beginning,
Just like a sunrise
Or the child’s blue eyes,
And I too do rise again
Every time I choose to see
What the world has yet to see.
I believe in
Who I might be.
