This is a poem about rest right in the middle of the unknown. It’s about that one moment that captures everything — life and death, truth and mystery, past and future. Since it’s the middle of winter in my corner of the world, I thought a poem with a touch of sunshine in it would be warmly welcomed.

A Poem about Eternity

Like a friend blossoms when they are heard,

so does nature long for your presence.

The trees crave your undivided attention —

The winds the pleasure of being felt.

Give the water your body of being.

Immerse yourself in essence.

Check the pulse of the universe.

Go deeper, further

Into subtleties. 

Hold a magnifying glass to the

Soul of the world.

Go beyond the world, with walls and windows.

Go to your edges.

Get uncomfortable.

Relax and rest into it, to

Go deeper into this heartbeat, somehow

Beyond what you know: here, souls meet.

You are not brought down by

What you don’t know.

You are enlightened by knowing, calmly,

That you do not know.

Choose the serenity of the gap

between your thoughts.

Know that you have entered, have opened the

Unlocked door to peace.

In sweeping landscapes of evergreen,

Or the blurred blue line separating Earth

From Sea, may you contemplate

The horizon where every moment

Meets: resting for a breath of

Eternity.
