Love Is My Guiding Light — A Devotion
When it comes to your healing, this is your path and these are your answers (and questions) to live. Yours entirely. But also yours to share. In other words, you don’t have to go it alone. You were never meant to.
That’s why love is my guiding light, something to follow and walk with when there’s nothing else to hold on to — especially, answers.
Since healing is sacred and uncomfortable, here’s a devotion to help you on the uncomfortable days (it’s like a poem).
Read this to yourself like it’s from your Self… pause for a deep breath after every sentence. Make it sacred.
Love is my guiding light — a devotion
I envision love as my northernmost star.
It’s not something to reach for and hold, but something
to light the way I’m walking.
It’s no thing at all.
In this light-drenched field, joy
drops
its illusion of being a landmark,
and flowers fill in the cracks left over
from yesterday.
Let love be my direction now.
Help me grow the courage to stay,
to go deeper,
to continue.
Help me play and dance right where I am,
in the middle of open fields,
with room to grow without needing to know
everything, or
anything.
Where I once needed answers, now let me need
only to learn and to trust.
Resilient am I when I arrive, again and again,
in this moment that I make my friend.
Now, let me see that
Love guides me, reaffirms me, and
stitches together
the moments
where I find grace in an unlikely place.
Like a light in the sky,
there is nothing real to lose,
not in fog, not even when life is made
new.
I grow brave as I walk, rediscovering truth.
All over again I see the destination
in each step.
And I am okay.
. . .
When love is your guiding light, you learn how to be brave. Brave enough to stay and dance with the mysteries. Brave enough to live the questions that have no answers yet.
Tell me:
Which part of this devotion did you really need to read today?
Tell me in the comments. I read every single one, and I'd love to know!
Love,
Jen

Andrew, “I have the courage to stay and I let love lead the way.” Maybe an affirmation that can help you through these times, because there’s always so much uncertainty, but a little hopefulness, and the ability to stay present and aware in the moment, can take you far. I’m glad this resonated with you. Lots of love to you as your life unfurls and opens up in new ways. xx

To let love lead the way and to have the courage to stay.
This resonated with because I’m not sure what is going to happen with my life and I’m scared about a lot of things right now. Andrew
