If it’s a change of pace you’re desperately craving, that’s a beautiful thing! Change is messy and can be disheartening at times, but it’s what we’re here to experience: EVERYthing. Here are some poems and notes to help you embrace what’s in the works.
Nothing has to be perfect for you to start whatever it is you want to start. All life needs you to be is you, in love.
You don’t have to be perfect to begin. I wasn’t. I’m still not. The thing is, you can learn as you go. You don’t have to know everything to inspire someone or make a difference.
Don’t wait until you find your groove to show up in the world; how else would you find your groove?
I hope these notes lift your spirits and relay the message that you’re actually, believe it or not, in the perfect position to initiate change.
5 Poems & Notes to Inspire a Change of Pace
1. Dream above your circumstances.
Whatever happens, be willing to ask yourself this one question: Will you let it guide you or stifle you? Will you let it drive you or handicap you? Will it feed your hunger to live with a greater purpose or will it starve your ambition to do what you can do from this moment forward?
Nothing needs to be perfect for you to set positive change in motion (not even you).
2. Go inward for your power.
There’s so much worth discovering when you go inward, so many treasures that are just waiting to be revealed through your own compassionate explorations.
There’s light inside. More beauty than you’ve probably given yourself credit for. Just a tiny glimpse of it, and you’ll start to see just how beautiful you can be.
Don’t let your current circumstances or a dark past make you forget your light.
3. Remember what can’t be taken from you.
With change comes inevitable hardship and potential loss. We’re giving up something—maybe that’s life as we’ve known it—in exchange for something else. Just know that you can’t lose what you are.
No matter what you’ve been through, your potential to heal, grow, and shine cannot be taken from you.
4. Trade certainty for curiosity.
Open the gates of your heart. Open your mind. Be receptive to what you’ve yet to experience. Let life be as full as it can possibly be. Let it be an adventure.
If you're receptive to change, you might discover wisdom rising from the crevices where the light got in.
5. Courage is something you build.
The courage to continue is what’s going to shape, color, enrich, and reveal not only who you are but who you can and therefore must be. It awakens your life now to what’s possible tomorrow.
