My Conscious Business Manifesto and a Free Guide for Yours
Dearest you. I know two things about you. One, you want to help make the world a kinder place (otherwise, you wouldn't be here). Two, you're creative (it's in your DNA, or your bones, or something). If you're combining those two things, I have something to share with you: my business manifesto and a free resource to help you create your own. For anyone doing important work in the world, I'd say it's a must.
A business manifesto is a declaration of your intentions for your work. You get clear about the core principles on which your mission operates. It's the gravity of truth at the heart of what you do.
I based my manifesto on something Danielle LaPorte shared a while back: go here for her free how-to on writing your own manifesto. It's fantastic. If you want to see her manifesto for more inspiration, read that here.
While I did answer all the questions and prompts for the manifesto behind the scenes, I kept some of it to myself. BUT, if you're curious about how I approach my work, I shared most of my business manifesto, below.
You can use this to inspire your own or not. I recommend using Danielle's guide (I mean, it's free!). Nothing to lose. Lots of clarity to gain. Do whatever feels true.
By the way: thanks for making a difference in the world. That's what conscious business is all about. (Even if your "business" is to smile at the person you're walking past on the street.)
You're always making a difference in the world. But when you do it on purpose, with a big open heart, you don't doubt or question your impact: you feel it in everything you do.
My Manifesto for Conscious Business (and Blogging)
My Purpose
To support those in pain (and the helpers) by writing words of hope and heart. Spark conscious healing. Write for the light.
Definitions:
Pain: Stress, limiting beliefs, destructive patterns, heartbreak, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, silent suffering.
Helpers: Teachers, coaches, artists, authors, activists, advocates, friends and family.
Messages of light: Poetry, affirmations, prompts, practices, contemplations.
Conscious healing: Knowing that you're growing (forward, inward) and why.
My Passionate Offering
I am passionate about writing in the name of love and possibility.
I can shine by writing words that encourage self-awareness and inspire people to explore their worth and potential.
My economic engine: published messages that resonate with those healing, growing, and making the world a kinder place.
My Values
- Compassion
- Openheartedness
- Intention
- Connection
- Possibility
Compassion
I believe in the healing practice of putting “I honor you” into action. I encourage people to grow compassion for themselves and others during difficult times. This requires courage, intense presence, and reverence for life. We must listen. We must ease off the judgment. We collaborate and rebuild together, by acknowledging the light and the dark, not bypassing or bashing either.
Openheartedness
I make what I’m inspired to make and support those who resonate with it. My writings are heart-to-heart communications, honest reflections of where I am in the healing process. I don’t force the answers; I radiate my truth and invite. I promote what I love and believe in. Staying true to myself is an invitation for others to do the same.
Intention
I take the phrase “change begins within” to heart. I believe in the profound vibrational impact of taking care of my own energy. I write on purpose and spread love because that’s who I am and that’s what I desire. My words empower others to create meaningful change with clarity and kindness.
Connection
I nourish people who appreciate the true treasures of being alive. My platform is a healing space that enriches and gives, attracts and connects. I believe in the boundless potential for expansion when love is the ultimate guide. I believe in collaboration, not competition. I honor the energy of money to further positive change. I favor quality over excess.
Possibility
I believe we're alchemists. We can turn suffering into something new and productive. We can make a mundane moment meaningful. I help others to see the beauty still left, in the world and in themselves. I wrap language around hope and water the seeds of renewal.
My Purpose for Money
For us (me, my family, my friends, those I serve) to be well. Nourishment of the mind, body, and spirit through holistic support systems. Ease and delight. The freedom to follow and create what we love, and make a difference doing so. Travel.
To reach hearts around the world and inspire kinship and hope.
Eventually, when I get there: To support like-hearted initiatives that advocate for mental well-being and trauma recovery.
Tell me:
What's one (or some) of your core values?
Always love,
Jen
P.S. This manifesto is a reflection of my personal process and the expansion of Aim Happy. That means it's subject to its own gentle evolution. Trust me when I say that a few key details are about to change in a big and beautiful way... so soon! Like, by the end of this month! You're going to love it. Promise.
